Biodiesel Plant Manager:

Innovation Fuels, Inc. is a BQ9000 certified and major biofuels producer with worldwide operations and headquartered in the North East. 
With a focus on consolidation in the US, the company has a mission to be a vertically integrated, dominant producer of renewable, environmentally friendly fuels with plans to increase capacity to 5,000,000 barrels/year in the next two years.
IFI has an immediate opening for an experienced Biodiesel Plant Manager at its Newark, NJ Facility. 
This is a 950,000 barrel/year biodiesel production plant with truck, rail, and barge access. 
The plant is in the final stages of a multimillion dollar renovation and production has started.  The plant utilizes a flexible feedstock and batch processing system, incorporates a pre-treatment esterification system, and has a current staff of 15 people.  
The Plant Operations Manager is responsible for all biodiesel production and plant operations, production processes, proper functioning & maintenance of equipment, plant staffing & training, safety & regulatory compliance, BQ9000, and P&L responsibility for biodiesel production, including meeting production targets & quality.

Experience & Education Required:
Title: Biodiesel Plant Manager (reports to Chief Operating Officer)

Education: Minimum BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, Masters degree highly preferred

Experience: Minimum 5 years experience as a Plant Manager.  Must have hands-on experience working in a production environment utilizing fats and oils. Direct biodiesel production experience highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assure that the processing plant operates efficiently and safely to   produce ASTM and EN spec fuel and quality glycerin on a consistent   basis
· Oversee feedstock logistics and offloading/loading of rail cars, trucks,   and barges, and establish and implement procedures for the safe and   efficient coordination of  incoming and outgoing deliveries
· Determine specific process recipes, prepare work instructions, maintain   proper records, and manage and oversee production
· Develop and manage an annual plant budget and operational cost   analysis to include staffing, supplies, maintenance, capital costs, among   other items
· Hire, train and directly supervise plant operations staff in accordance   with the approved budget
· Supervise contractors, plant staff, and/or perform basic plant   maintenance such as: pump and pipe replacements, change-out of   equipment filters, cleaning, painting and expendable supplies, etc.
· Handle and/or supervise the handling of hazardous and non-hazardous   materials in strict accordance with company safety procedures
· Maintain the Plant Safety Plan, and conduct periodic safety and   training.  Ensure that all safety equipment, clothing, and tools are   readily available, in excellent working order, and in compliance with all   regulations
· Maintain proper level of plant supply inventories to support continuous   production
· Comply with all regulatory and permit related inspections, and ensure   that the plant is always in compliance with all federal, state, and local   regulations
· Ensure that all equipment and plant leasehold improvements are   continually maintained in excellent condition.  Schedule maintenance   shut downs as required.
· Schedule plant staff and manage shifts, costs, and manpower   requirements. Review and approve timesheets for payroll purposes.
· Follow strictest quality control, safety and environmental compliance   measures and provide daily production and quality reports as may be   required by BQ-9000 and other company policies.
· Continuously work to reduce operational costs and seek efficiencies   proactively that will add value to the Company.
· Establish a system and process to retain detailed daily records of the   amount of feedstock, catalyst and methanol used and amount of   biodiesel produced
· Coordinate on-site activities and support services that may be required   from Passaic River Terminals, and provide primary interface with PRT.  
· Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency   of plant production operations.

The company provides a competitive salary and bonus compensation plan commensurate with experience, and as the Plant Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of the management team, and qualify for equity in the form of stock options.
